I Am Proud to Be One of the Soldiers of Freedom Who Definitively Made Shushi Our Own: Araik Harutyunyan

The newly elected President of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan, has sent a congratulatory message in connection with the May Trifecta:

“Dear countrymen,
The significance of the Trifecta holds special meaning in our people's life, as it encompasses our national victories and peace, the most precious price for our dignified existence—thousands of innocent lives. Today, I bow my head before the undeniable contribution left by the brave sons of our people who forged a glorious victory in the Great Patriotic War and in the battles for the liberation of Shushi. I am proud to be one of the soldiers of freedom who definitively made the Armenian fortress city of Shushi our own, where the best fell with the death of heroes. Glory to all martyrs!

I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our Defense Army, the guardian of our united homeland's borders and the true guarantor of peace in the region, on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the army's creation.

Dear beloved Armenian community living in the homeland and the diaspora,
At this momentous time, I declare that, in honor of the victories of the Armenian people, on May 21, I will deliver my solemn oath upon assuming the office of the President of the Republic of Artsakh from the historic Shushi as a testament of faith in the bright future ahead.
