Police Discover Large Cache of Weapons and Ammunition, 40-Year-Old Man Arrested
On April 27, as part of a criminal case initiated by the Central Department of the Police, law enforcement authorities detained a 40-year-old resident of the capital on suspicion of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and ammunition. Following a court order, the authorities conducted a search of the man's apartment and auxiliary buildings. This was reported by the Police of the Republic of Armenia.
As a result, two rifles, three pistols with magazines and ammunition, an empty magazine for a submachine gun, and 30 bullets of 7.62 mm caliber were discovered.
Additionally, a search was conducted at the office of the gas station owned by the man within the framework of the criminal case. A total of 451 bullets of 7.62 mm caliber, bullet projectiles, 170 bullets of 5.45 mm caliber, a double-barreled shotgun, a gas pistol, an air rifle, 80 hunting shotgun cartridges, a signaling pistol loaded with two cartridges, and two knives were found.
Expert examinations have been appointed. The 40-year-old resident of Yerevan has been arrested. An investigation is underway.
