Gas Leak in Martuni Causes Fire Outbreak
The Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations received a call today, April 21, at 10:52 AM, reporting a gas leak near one of the houses on Garegin Nzhdeh Street in Martuni, Gegharkunik Province, accompanied by a fire outbreak.
Two firefighting units from the regional rescue department have been dispatched to the scene. It was discovered that the gas leak occurred from the supply pipe of one of the houses, resulting in a fire outbreak. The firefighters managed to isolate the fire by 11:03 AM and extinguished it by 11:25 AM, with the flames originating from the leaking gas.
Employees from the Martuni gasification and gas supply branch have closed the valve that supplies the gas pipeline and are carrying out repair works.
