New Infection Cases Registered at Maralik Health Center, Shirak Governor

As a result of the testing conducted, 8 new cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in the consolidated community of Ani in Shirak. The total number of infected individuals in the community is currently 18, all of whom are staff members of the Maralik hospital.

Shirak Governor Tigran Petrosyan informed SHANTNEWS that 18 healthcare workers from the Maralik Health Center are at the Gyumri Infectious Disease Hospital, while the others have been subject to mandatory isolation.

A decision has been made to temporarily suspend the provision of healthcare services at the health center, which had been operating primary healthcare services, a maternity ward, and emergency services.

Police task forces are implementing strengthened monitoring in Maralik. In total, 37 cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded in Shirak since the onset of the disease. All healthcare facilities in Gyumri have been granted the right to conduct testing.
