Death Toll in the U.S. Could Reach 65,000, With 32,000 Infections in a Day: Donald Trump
As of April 15 to 16, 3,857 people have died in the United States due to the coronavirus, and 31,905 new cases of the disease have been reported, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
In total, over 701,000 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the U.S., with 36,997 deaths reported.
According to estimates from authorities, the death toll in the U.S. could reach between 60,000 and 65,000. This was stated by U.S. President Donald Trump, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“I think we are heading towards 60,000 to 65,000,” he said in a conversation with reporters.
Previously, the President had mentioned other figures, stating that the death toll could exceed 100,000, reaching more than 200,000.
Currently, approximately 36,700 individuals have died in the U.S. due to complications from the coronavirus, with 692 cases confirmed.
