State of Emergency in Kazakhstan Extended Until May 1

The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed a decree on April 14, announcing that the state of emergency declared in the country will remain in effect until May 1 at 07:00 AM. This measure aims to ensure the safety of the population and to prevent the spread of the new type of coronavirus (COVID-19).

Current restrictions on entry into Kazakhstan will continue to apply to foreigners, including citizens of the Republic of Armenia, until the end of the state of emergency. The quarantine measures in the city of Nur-Sultan will also remain in effect until the state of emergency concludes.

The Armenian Embassy in Kazakhstan had issued a statement regarding these restrictions on March 15. Additionally, following its statement on March 19 and considering the state of emergency declared until May 1 in Kazakhstan and the necessity to protect Armenian citizens from high-risk contacts, the Embassy has announced that until May 1, consular services will be provided only by phone and email ([email protected]).

These measures aim to protect public health and will remain in force until further notice.

Armenian citizens currently in Kazakhstan are urged to comply with the instructions and measures implemented by the authorities to combat the new type of coronavirus, especially in circumstances where returning home is not feasible.
