On April 16, 2020, at 18:55, a call was received at the Erebuni Police Department from the Erebuni Medical Center reporting that a 1991-born young man had sought medical assistance for a "gunshot wound to the head." A criminal case has been initiated in the Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative region’s investigative department under the first part of Article 112 of the RA Criminal Code (causing serious harm to health intentionally).
On the same day, as a result of investigative actions and operational-search measures, it was revealed that on April 16, 2020, around 18:40, a 40-year-old citizen residing on a rental basis on Ayvazovsky Street in Yerevan had fired several lead bullets with an air rifle of the type "HATSAN MOD. 125E" towards metal cylinders installed on the second-floor balcony of his house. One of the bullets struck the head of the aforementioned young man, who was standing in the yard of a nearby auto service center.
During the inspection of the balcony, metal cylinders with traces from the gunfire were found and seized. The individual suspected of committing the crime presented the aforementioned rifle and three boxes of lead bullets, which have been confiscated. A signature not to leave has been chosen as a preventive measure against him. Forensic medical, forensic ballistic, and forensic criminological examinations have been appointed. The investigation is ongoing.
