58-Year-Old Man Dies from Coronavirus
A death from coronavirus has been registered at the "Saint Gregory the Illuminator" medical center involving a 58-year-old man. This was reported by Alina Nikoghosyan, the spokesperson for the Minister of Health, on her Facebook page.
At the "Saint Gregory the Illuminator" medical center, a death was recorded. The 58-year-old patient had coronavirus disease with confirmed bilateral subtotal pneumonia. The man also had chronic conditions, including ischemic heart disease, stage III hypertension, and obesity of stages II-III.
During treatment, he was diagnosed with an acute myocardial infarction with ST elevation. On April 8, coronary artery stenting was performed, after which the patient developed distress syndrome, acute respiratory failure of stage III, sepsis, and septic shock. Following prolonged mechanical ventilation, he developed progressive multiple organ failure.
As of April 16, there have been 42 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease and 44 recoveries.
