Parents with Children Under 14 Laid Off Will Receive 100,000 Drams
The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia, Zaruhi Batoyan, presented one of the measures aimed at neutralizing the social consequences of the coronavirus during a press conference on April 2. This measure pertains to parents with children under the age of 14 who were laid off between March 13 and 25.
Batoyan noted that unregistered workers are not eligible for the program. “Citizens who were laid off between March 13 and 25 and whose other parent is deceased or missing may be eligible. Additionally, those individuals whose registered working parent with a child under 14 was laid off during this time, while the other parent is not employed, are also eligible. Single parents with children under 14 who were registered workers and laid off during this period will also qualify,” Batoyan said.
The Minister emphasized that the support amount is set at 100,000 drams for each child. The government has adopted five measures aimed at mitigating the social consequences of the crisis, intended to support vulnerable groups in society during the state of emergency.
