An Unprecedented Event in the History of Armenia: Pashinyan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made the following statement on his Facebook page: “An unprecedented event has occurred in the history of Armenia: Women have been appointed to the positions of head of police departments. In particular, police lieutenant Meline Yeghshatyan has been appointed as the head of the Gugark Police Department, and police captain Zhanna Shahnazaryan has been appointed as the head of the Tsaghkadzor Police Department. This is in line with our government’s policy of increasing women’s involvement in all spheres of public life. I wish Meline Yeghshatyan and Zhanna Shahnazaryan success. It will not be easy, but I believe their example will inspire many women, and men will become more responsible.”
