Violating Self-Isolation Requirements Could Lead to 5 Years in Prison: Draft Law

The National Assembly of Armenia is discussing a package of draft laws aimed at amending the Criminal Code and the Code of Administrative Offenses during an urgent extraordinary session. The government proposes to establish administrative liability for violating self-isolation or quarantine requirements, with fines ranging from 300 to 500 times the minimum wage.

Additionally, the draft law suggests the following amendment to the Criminal Code: “Violating the requirements of isolation or self-isolation during a state of emergency, which has resulted in mass illness due to negligence, is punishable by detention for up to 3 months or imprisonment for up to 5 years.”
