City Hall to Bury Woman Who Died from Assault in Gyumri
The woman who died from injuries sustained in an assault in Gyumri on March 5 will be buried tomorrow, March 11. The burial will be organized by the Gyumri city hall. This was stated by Sona Arakelyan, press secretary of the Gyumri mayor, in an interview with the news agency.
So far, no relatives have taken steps to bury the woman five days after the incident. “We have received a letter from the investigative body to bury the deceased woman. We will carry out this process within the limits of the law,” Arakelyan told the media.
It is recalled that on March 5, at 2:50 PM, the body of a 43-year-old woman was discovered in one of the houses on Proshyan Street in Gyumri. A child born in 2007 from the same house was taken to the hospital with bodily injuries. According to the information from the prosecutor's office, the child sustained the injuries at their home. The person who inflicted the injuries is a 28-year-old man, a close acquaintance of the 43-year-old woman. He was taken into custody, arrested, and subsequently remanded in custody.
