First Time Wild Animals Have Been Captured on Digital SLR Cameras in Armenia
For the first time in Armenia, digital SLR cameras have been used to photograph wild animals in their natural habitat. Back in 2002, when WWF Armenia began utilizing cameras for nature monitoring, they operated on 35 mm film. Soon after, digital cameras emerged and have since become widely used, replacing film cameras. However, the images captured with these cameras often rarely surpass the quality of technical photographs. Some photographers focusing on wildlife use other high-quality professional cameras to achieve aesthetically valuable photographs.
WWF Armenia, in collaboration with Vladimir Chekh Jr., a renowned photographer with significant experience in photographing large mammals in Europe, South America, Africa, and Asia, has obtained examples of such photographs, reported the Armenian branch of the World Wildlife Fund. The photographs were taken in the Khosrov Forest State Reserve.
