Vardenyats Pass Closed: Road Conditions as of 08:40
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of 08:40 on February 26, there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads within the territory of Armenia.
The roads leading to Amberd Fortress and Karch lake in the Aragatsotn region will remain closed for an indefinite period. The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks with trailers, while other vehicles can navigate it with difficulty.
The Sotk-Karvachar road is difficult to traverse. There are patches of black ice on the Sotk-Karvachar and Sevan-Gavar roads in the Gegharkunik region, as well as in the “Meghri” and Saravan-„Zanger“ parts of the Syunik region.
According to information received from the Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center of North Ossetia of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry, the Stepanavan-Lars road is closed for trucks, while it is open for other types of vehicles. The Russian side reports that there are 483 trucks accumulated at the border.
