Today, 10 Citizens from Iran Enter Armenia, No Suspicious Symptoms Reported
As of February 25 at 5:30 PM, the movement at the Armenian-Iranian border has drastically decreased. A total of 45 trucks have crossed the Iran-Armenia border, with drivers undergoing enhanced checks. According to the Armenian Health and Labor Inspectorate, “10 citizens of the Republic of Armenia have also entered the country through the Meghri medical and sanitary checkpoint, having undergone temperature checks and examinations for symptoms characteristic of infectious diseases. No individuals exhibited any suspicious signs.
In previous days, prior to the temporary limitations on communication with Iran, between 800 to 1100 people entered the country daily and underwent medical examinations at the Meghri checkpoint.” On February 25, the government of Armenia's decision to temporarily limit communication with the Islamic Republic of Iran came into effect. For a period of two weeks, land and air communications with the Islamic Republic of Iran have been restricted, allowing only the entry of vehicles transporting goods from Iran to Armenia.
Moreover, the entry is allowed only for the vehicle driver and one replacement driver, the return of Iranian citizens from Armenia to Iran, the return of Armenian citizens from Iran to Armenia, the entry of officials from Iran visiting Armenia for official purposes along with their companions, and the entry and exit of diplomatic representative staff and their family members from both Iran and Armenia.
There have been no suspicious symptoms reported from any individual at the Meghri border medical and sanitary checkpoint.
