New Charges Filed Against Ara Babloyan and Arsen Babayan

The former Speaker of the National Assembly, Ara Babloyan, and the former Deputy Chief of Staff of the National Assembly, Arsen Babayan, have had their charges modified. This was revealed in response to a query from 'Factinfo' by the Investigative Committee.

'Ara Babloyan has been charged under Articles 308 (Part 2) and 314 (Part 1) of the Criminal Code of Armenia, while Arsen Babayan has been charged under Articles 38-308 (Part 2) and 314 (Part 1) of the Criminal Code of Armenia. The investigative authorities have deemed the evidence collected in this criminal case sufficient to prepare an indictment and send the case to court, which has been communicated to the defendants and their lawyers. The materials of the case have also been provided to them for review,' stated the Investigative Committee.
