Will the Residences of Certain Countries' Ambassadors Move to Yerevan?

According to the "Fact" newspaper, the current authorities intend to reconsider certain aspects of Armenia's diplomatic policy, and there may soon be a process initiated for establishing new diplomatic relations.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is busy clarifying certain procedures regarding the embassies of countries that have diplomatic relations with Armenia. As such, the relocation of the embassies of certain countries, mainly those based in Moscow, to Yerevan is being discussed.

Our sources indicate that the relocation of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain from Moscow to Yerevan is not excluded, which would effectively mean the opening of a Spanish embassy in Armenia.

Interestingly, during the Munich Security Conference on February 15, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Spain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares Bueno.

To verify this information, "Fact" reached out to the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Anna Naghdalyan. "Whether Spain will bring its embassy to Armenia or not can be answered by the Spanish side; that inquiry should be directed to Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I cannot say if they are discussing this matter or not. At this moment, I do not have such information," Naghdalyan said, as reported by the newspaper.
