One Person Dies from Coronavirus in Iran, 800 Citizens Under Monitoring
Another death has been reported in Iran from the novel coronavirus infection. This was announced by Kianoush Jahanpour, spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Health, as conveyed by Iranologist Armen Israelian.
In an interview with state television, he stated that the number of infected people has increased by ten since yesterday, bringing the total to 28. Among them, 8 are in Qom, where the outbreak began, and 2 are in Tehran.
A total of 800 citizens have sought medical assistance and are currently under the supervision of specialists.
As of today, the number of coronavirus cases in Iran stands at 23. One of the newly infected individuals is a government official, the head of one of Tehran's districts, according to Reuters.
Morteza Rahmanzadeh, the head of the 13th district of the Iranian capital, was hospitalized on Friday with suspected coronavirus infection. Today, his tests returned positive, confirming he is infected.
As of today, a total of 5 people have died in Iran from the illness caused by the coronavirus.
