Snowfall in Regions: Closed and Impassable Roads
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that as of February 20 at 20:25, there are closed and impassable roads in the territory of Armenia.
The roads to Amberd Fortress and Kar Lake in the Aragatsotn region will remain closed for an indefinite period.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed for heavy vehicles and difficult to navigate for other transport vehicles.
The Sotk-Karvachar road is impassable for heavy vehicles.
Snowfall is observed at the Vardenyats Pass, in the area known as 'Meghru Sar' in Syunik region, Martuni in Gegharkunik region, and in the cities of Jermuk in Vayots Dzor region, as well as in the Tsaghkadzor and Aparan regions of Aragatsotn.
Fog is reported in the areas of Saravan-'Zanger', 'Meghru Sar', and in the city of Goris in Syunik region.
Regarding Lars, the information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia indicates that the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for passenger vehicles, while it is closed for heavy vehicles.
According to the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, there are 335 heavy trucks accumulated on the Russian side.
