Lars Border Crossing Remains Closed, Roads Difficult to Navigate
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that as of February 19 at 18:00, there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia.
The roads leading to Amberd Fortress and Kar Lake in the Aragatsotn Province will remain closed for an indefinite period. There are patches of black ice on the Sotk-Karbachar and highways in the Syunik Province.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks with trailers, while other vehicles face difficult navigation. According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the North Ossetia Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Stepanizminda-Lars road is closed for all types of vehicles.
Moreover, the Russian side has reported a backlog of 335 trucks. The Ministry of Emergency Situations urges drivers to travel exclusively with winter tires.
