Iran Announces Damaged Black Boxes of Downed Ukrainian Boeing
The black boxes of the Ukrainian aircraft that was shot down in Tehran belonging to the "Ukrainian International Airlines" are damaged. This was reported by Iran's official IRNA news agency, citing Iran's Defense Minister, Brigadier General Amir Hatami.
On February 19, Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami stated that Iran's defense industry has been asked to assist in repairing the severely damaged black boxes of the Ukrainian airliner. After the repairs, the black boxes will be decoded,” the statement said.
It is noted that the Iranian side had requested assistance from the United States regarding the decoding of the black boxes, but was rejected by Washington.
