Sisisan's "Zanger" is Impassable: Road Conditions as of 08:00
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of 08:00 on February 18, there are closed and impassable roads in the territory of Armenia.
The roads leading to the Amberd fortress and Karli Lake in the Aragatsotn region will remain closed for an unspecified period.
The Vardenyats mountain pass is closed only for trucks, and there is black ice in some areas.
The roads connecting Ashotik and Amasia, Sisian-Goris, Sotk-Karbajar (snowstorm), Vayk-Jermuk, and the Saravan-"Zanger" section are impassable.
Snow is falling in the Tigranashen bends, in the city of Kajaran in Syunik region, in the areas known as "Zanger" and "Meghru Mountain," in the city of Jermuk in Vayots Dzor region, in the city of Chambarak in Gegharkunik region, and in Dilijan, Ijevan, and Noyemberyan in Tavush region, as well as in the cities of Stepanavan and Tashir in Armavir and Lori regions.
There is fog on the road leading to Tavush in the Kotayk region.
According to information from the Emergency Management Department of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepanstminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. There are approximately 1000 trucks stranded on the Russian side, as reported by the Crisis Management Center of the North Ossetian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
