Fog in Tavush and Kotayk Regions
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of February 17, at 19:53, there are closed and difficult roads across the Republic of Armenia.
The roads leading to Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake in Aragatsotn Province will remain closed for an indefinite period. The Vardenyats Pass is only closed for trucks, and there is some black ice in places.
The roads between Ashotsk and Amasia, Sisian-Goris, Sotk-Karvachar (snowstorm), and Vayk-Jermuk are difficult to pass. Sections of Saravan-'Zanger' and Sisian-'Zanger' are also affected.
Snowfall has been reported in Tigranashen, Jermuk in Vayots Dzor Province, Chambarak in Gegharkunik Province, Dilijan, Ijevan, and Novembrian in Tavush Province, as well as in Abovyan, Yeghvard, and Hrazdan in Ararat Province, and in Stepanavan and Tashir in Lori Province. There are reports of black ice on the roads in Syunik Province.
Fog is present in Tavush and Kotayk regions.
Regarding the Lars, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of North Ossetia of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open to all types of vehicles. However, according to the Russian side, there are approximately 1,000 trucks stranded on the Russian side of the border.
