Blocked and Difficult-to-Navigate Roads in Armenia
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are currently blocked and difficult-to-navigate roads across Armenia.
The roads leading to Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake in Aragatsotn Province will remain closed for an indefinite period of time.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks with trailers and other difficult-to-navigate vehicles, while the Sotk-Karvachar road is closed for trucks, making it difficult for other types of vehicles. The Sisian-Zanger section is also difficult to navigate.
In the provinces of Syunik, Kotayk, and the regions of Aparan and Aragats in Aragatsotn, patches of black ice are reported on the roads.
Regarding the Lars situation, according to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center of Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepanstwinda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.
However, the Russian side has reported a backlog of about 1,000 trucks. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
