Vardenyats Pass Closed: Road Conditions as of 21:00

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of February 14 at 21:00, there are closed and difficult to traverse roads within the territory of Armenia. The roads leading to Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake in the Aragatsotn region remain closed until further notice.

Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks with trailers and other vehicles that have difficulty traversing. The Sotk-Karvachar road is closed only for trucks, while other vehicles can still navigate it with difficulty. The Sisian-Zanger section is also difficult to traverse.

In the Syunik and Kotayk regions, as well as in the Aparan and Aragats regions of Aragatsotn, there are areas with black ice on the roads.

As for Lars, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the North Ossetia of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the Stepanstminda-Lars road is closed only for trucks with trailers. The information from the Crisis Management Center of North Ossetia indicates that approximately 1000 trucks are currently stranded on the Russian side.
