Publications Regarding Papikyan Sent to the Special Investigative Service

The Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, has stated that publications regarding allegations against him have been sent to the Special Investigative Service. This information was provided by Aravik Khachatryan, the head of the public relations department of the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia, in a conversation with Armenpress.

On February 14, Papikyan clarified the rumors circulating about him during a live broadcast on his official Facebook page, mentioning that he had been sentenced to imprisonment due to involvement in non-statutory relations in the army. He emphasized that he had not accepted his guilt and had been released under an amnesty, which means his conviction has been considered annulled.

"I served in a non-Armenian army. There is a certain truth in everything presented, but there is also a certain distortion in the presentation. This pertains to my service from 2004 to 2006. During my service, I stood out as a good soldier and was an excellent border guard. However, there was one incident where my national dignity was harmed, and I found myself involved in a situation. They write about some stabbing or cutting instruments, which does not correspond to reality; I did not commit any such act. My participation was in non-statutory relations, and I have not accepted any guilt, and I was released under amnesty, thus my conviction is considered annulled. This happened approximately 13-14 years ago," Papikyan stated.

In his live broadcast, Suren Papikyan also addressed the National Security Service and the police to clarify how his personal private information became a reason for tarnishing his name.
