Snow Across the Republic; Several Roads Closed

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia reports that as of February 13 at 23:30, there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.

The roads leading to Amberd Fortress and Karch Lake in Aragatsotn Province will remain closed for an indefinite period. The Vardenyats Pass is also closed.

The Sotk-Karmiraj road is challenging to navigate for large trucks, as well as the road from the Sevan Peninsula to the village of Tsovagyugh, and the roads in the regions of Amasia and Ashotsk in Shirak Province.

There are reports of icy conditions on the roads connecting Kotayk, Gegharkunik, Lori, and Syunik provinces, including the Sisian-Goris, the roads in Aragatsotn Province from Kuchak to Aparan, and the road leading to the village of Tsaghkahovit.

Snowfall has been observed in the provinces of Ararat, Kotayk, Vayots Dzor, and Shirak, as well as in the regions of Talin and Ashtarak in Aragatsotn Province, Vardenis and Jambarak in Gegharkunik Province, the twisting passages in Spitak, and on the Sotk-Karmiraj road, Sisian-Goris, Saravan-Zanger, Kajaran, and the Meghri Mountain segment.

Regarding the Lars border crossing, information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia in North Ossetia indicates that the Stepantsminda-Lars road is only closed for trucks with trailers. According to the information received from the Crisis Management Center of the Emergencies Ministry of Russia in North Ossetia, over 1,000 trucks have accumulated on the Russian side of the border.
