WHO Announces New Name for Chinese Coronavirus
On Tuesday, February 11, during a conference in Geneva, the World Health Organization announced its new name for the Chinese coronavirus. This was stated by WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
“Now we have a name for the disease. It is COVID-19,” he announced. It is worth mentioning that earlier Chinese authorities had given the coronavirus a temporary name, NCP.
