Roads Blocked and Difficult to Pass in Armenia
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia reports that as of February 11 at 18:00, there are roads in Armenia that are blocked and difficult to pass.
The roads leading to the Amberd Fortress and the Kari Lake in the Aragatsotn region are closed. The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks with trailers, while it is difficult to pass for other vehicles. The Sotk-Karvachar road is also difficult to navigate.
There are areas with black ice on the roads in the Kotayk, Gegharkunik, Lori, Syunik, Shirak regions, as well as on the Vayk-Saravan road in the Vayots Dzor region, and on the inter-community roads of Aparan and Aragatz in the Aragatsotn region.
According to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Emergency Department and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations’ North Ossetia Crisis Management Center, the Stepantsminda-Larsi road is closed only for trucks with trailers, while it is open for other vehicles. Additionally, there are over 1000 trucks stranded on the Russian side as per the latest updates from the Russian authorities.
