Prosecutor's Office Sends Report on Threats Against Edmond Marukyan to Police
The report regarding the threats directed at Edmond Marukyan, the leader of the "Bright Armenia" faction, has been sent by the Prosecutor General's Office to the Main Department of Criminal Police.
In a conversation with "Armenpress," the head of the public relations department of the Prosecutor General's Office, Arevik Khachatryan, stated that the report will be processed in accordance with Articles 180 (reports of crimes must be discussed and resolved immediately, and if necessary, verifying the legality of initiating a case and the sufficiency of grounds must be done within 10 days from the time of receipt) and 181 (in each case of receiving information about a crime, one of the following decisions will be adopted: 1) to initiate a criminal case, 2) to refuse to initiate a criminal case, 3) to refer the report according to jurisdiction) of the Criminal Procedure Code.
On February 11, during a conversation with reporters, Edmond Marukyan announced that he had received threats from unknown individuals and submitted a report to Prosecutor General Arthur Davtyan regarding these threats.
