Konstantin Orbelian Restored as Director of the Opera Theater
Konstantin Orbelian has been reinstated as the director of the Alexander Spendiaryan National Opera Theater, effective today. This announcement was made by Orbelian during a press conference held today.
The Court of Appeals upheld the decision of the first instance court to restore him to the director's position from which he had previously been removed by the acting Minister of Culture, Nazeni Gharibyan.
It is noteworthy that the court had fully granted Orbelian's civil lawsuit against the former acting Minister of Culture, Nazeni Gharibyan. Orbelian sought to annul Gharibyan's order issued on March 3, 2019, which terminated his powers, and demanded to be reinstated to his position, along with payment for the compulsory leave he had incurred.
