Road Conditions as of 22:40
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that as of 22:40 on February 8, there are closed and difficult road conditions throughout the territory of Armenia.
Closed are the Vardenyats Pass, the Sotk-Karvachar, and the Gyumri-Bavra highways (for all types of vehicles), the Dilijan tunnel in Tavush Province, the road leading to Tsovagyugh in Gegharkunik Province (for trucks), and the roads to Amberd Fortress and Kar Lake in Aragatsotn Province.
The Vayk-Sarnakunk section of the Yerevan-Meghri highway is closed in both directions. The section known as Saravan-"Zanger" is closed for trucks, while passenger vehicles face difficult conditions.
The Abovyan-Hatis, Abovyan-Sevaberd, Abovyan-Kaputan, and the roads in the Ani region are difficult to navigate.
In Aragatsotn Province, in the regions of Aparan and Tsaghkadzor, as well as on the roads of Syunik and Gegharkunik Provinces, and the Jajur section of the Artik-Akhuryan highway, there are instances of black ice.
There is snow on the Sotk-Karvachar, Aparan-Kuchak highways, and in the regions of Shirak such as Ashotik and Amasia, in the city of Sevan in Gegharkunik Province, and in the Saravan-"Zanger" section of the Yerevan-Meghri highway.
In Tavush, Lori, Aragatsotn, Kotayk Provinces, Ararat Province's Ararat town, Martuni and Sevan in Gegharkunik Province, Gyumri in Shirak Province, and Jermuk and Vayk in Vayots Dzor Province, as well as Goris and Kapan in Syunik Province, snow is also present in the Saravan-"Zanger" area.
Fog is present in the village of Jujivan in Tavush Province. On the Sotk-Karvachar highway, there are about 50-60 stagnant vehicles, while around 150 vehicles are congested in the area of the Sarnakunk village on the Yerevan-Meghri highway.
According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the North Ossetia Crisis Management Center of the Russian Federation, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed for all types of vehicles. The Russian side reports that there are 940 trucks, 60 passenger vehicles, 1 bus, and 4 minivans stranded.
