Motion to Arrest Vahagn Vermishyan Submitted to Court

The President of the RA Urban Development Committee, Vahagn Vermishyan, has been charged and a motion to select arrest as a measure of restraint has been submitted to the court. This was reported by the press center of the National Security Service (NSS).

On February 5, Vahagn Vermishyan was arrested on suspicion of receiving a particularly large bribe. According to the NSS statement, as a result of operational-investigative measures and investigative actions carried out, factual data was obtained indicating that the President of the RA Urban Development Committee, acting as a public official, used his official position contrary to the interests of the service and based on personal interest, in coordination with persons engaged in construction work or representatives of construction companies, both personally and through an acquaintance, received bribes on five occasions in the form of money or material goods amounting to 1,000,000-2,500,000 AMD, during which he performed actions or facilitated the quick decision-making and provision of favorable decisions on their behalf in 2019.
