Hospitalizations at the Border
The Health and Labor Inspection Body informs: “Yes, there have been hospitalizations at the border. Yes, there were Armenians arriving from China who had fever. Yes, they, and not only they, have been isolated and hospitalized.
Why was this not published? For a very simple reason: These are the ongoing monitoring activities of the Health and Labor Inspection Body aimed at preventing the intrusion of coronavirus. They are smoothly followed by the efforts of the Ministry of Health.
Any person arriving from China or having been in that country within the last 14 days, who records a temperature of 37 degrees or higher during border crossing, is isolated and hospitalized in order to limit contact with personnel and other passengers. Their further health status is managed by the Ministry of Health.
Fortunately, so far, none of the hospitalized individuals have tested positive for the disease. In this regard, comprehensive information is regularly provided when the Ministry of Health has the results of relevant tests.
There is no need for unnecessary panic. The important thing is that the relevant authorities are on top of the situation. The Health and Labor Inspection Body continues its enhanced monitoring activities at both air and land borders. An inter-agency commission has been established to prevent the intrusion of coronavirus into Armenia. The Inspection Body is closely cooperating with other relevant entities.”
