«Joghvourd»: How Did the Incident Occur with Only 6 Months Left in Service?
«Joghvourd» newspaper reports that on January 28, at approximately 2:55 AM, a 20-year-old soldier, Nver Avetisyan, sustained a gunshot wound at a guarding post located in one of the military units deployed in the southeastern direction of the Armed Forces. He was immediately transported to a military hospital, where his condition is assessed as serious. An investigation is underway to clarify the details of the incident.
According to «Joghvourd», it became known that the soldier had only 6 months left to complete his service and return home. Rumors circulating within the military unit suggest that the soldier allegedly shot himself with the weapon of a contract soldier. There is also an investigation into the possibility of negligent handling of the firearm, which may have led to the incident.
However, it should be noted that the soldier's relatives insist that he was not the type to shoot himself and that there are circumstances surrounding the case that remain unclear. Whether law enforcement is concealing information or attempting to protect specific individuals will be revealed by the investigation. We will continue to monitor the progress of the inquiry.
