For the First Time in Armenia's History

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, stated on his Facebook page:

Fact number 3: Capital expenditures outlined in the 2020 state budget have increased by 21% compared to the actual figures of 2017, by 90% compared to those of 2018, and by over 30% compared to the 2019 budget. The proposed 2020 state budget plans an increase of about 102 billion drams in capital expenditures, bringing it to 4.1% of the GDP, as opposed to 2.5% in 2018 and 3.3% in 2019.

In total, the capital expenditures planned for 2020 amount to 287.7 billion drams. For the first time in Armenia's history, the government does not plan to take out loans for budgetary support. Only loans that will be employed for specific targeted programs will be secured from external sources, and these will be discussed and approved by the National Assembly.
