Putin Presents Draft Law on Constitutional Reforms to the State Duma

Russian President Vladimir Putin has presented a draft law on constitutional reforms to the State Duma, according to the website meduza.io.

Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that during the examination of the draft law, the representatives of the president will include the co-chairs of the constitutional commission, Andrey Klishas, Pavel Krasheninnikov, and Taliya Khabrieva. Putin had proposed to enshrine the minimum wage in the Constitution, tighten the requirements for running for the presidency, and redistribute powers among the branches of government in his address to the Federal Council on January 15.

To prepare specific proposals regarding the reforms, a 75-member working group has been established. A nationwide vote on the reforms could take place in April or May of this year.
