Trump Plans Travel Ban for Citizens from Several CIS Countries

The administration of United States President Donald Trump is considering the possibility of imposing a travel ban for citizens from seven countries. This was reported by politico.com, recalling that three years ago, the President enacted a similar ban targeting several Muslim-majority countries.

Trump may announce his decision as early as Monday. The final list of countries has not yet been confirmed, but it is known that discussions are ongoing regarding Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nigeria, Sudan, Tanzania, and Eritrea, according to knowledgeable sources.

Sources noted that if the ban is implemented, it will apply not to all citizens of these countries, but rather to certain government officials or specific visa types.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal the day before, President Trump mentioned that he is attempting to impose a travel ban on several countries, but he declined to specify which countries he was referring to.
