14 Drivers Perform 'Drifting' in Vanadzor's Hayk Square
On January 17, the Taroni division of the police received operational information that on January 16, between 10:00 PM and 11:30 PM, the driver of a ‘VAZ 2121’ car and several other drivers disrupted traffic in Vanadzor's Hayk Square by performing high-speed spins for an extended period, creating accident-prone situations and demonstrating blatant disrespect towards other road users, citizens, and residents at the square, grossly violating public order.
According to the Information provided by the Police of the Republic of Armenia, as a result of the explanatory work conducted by the Taroni division police officers, a 22-year-old driver of the ‘VAZ 2121’ reported to the division on January 17 and provided an explanation. The vehicle was moved to a special area maintained by the road police.
It was revealed that during the same time period, 13 other drivers had also violated public order in a similar manner with their vehicles. The identities of all the drivers have been established. Some have been located and provided explanations. Measures are being taken to find the others. Materials are being prepared for further proceedings.
