Police Discover Large Quantity of Marijuana, Weapons, and Explosives

The police continue their relentless fight against various subcultural phenomena with determination and consistency.

On January 14, officers from the Main Department of Criminal Police, the Kotayk Regional Department, and subordinate units carried out operational-preventive measures in the Kotayk region aimed at preventing and detecting crimes. As a result, based on operational information and various suspicions, individuals were taken to the divisions in Hrazdan, Kotayk, Charentsavan, and Nairi.

Personal searches and vehicle inspections were conducted. Various quantities of substances resembling marijuana were discovered, packaged, and sent for examination. A pistol was found in the possession of one of the individuals, and several others had knives of various sizes.

During the preventive measures, there were also cases of voluntary surrender of illegally held weapons and ammunition recorded at the police divisions in Hrazdan, Kotayk, and Nairi. Several residents of the region brought different types of rifles, grenades, explosives, detonators, and cartridges of various calibers to the police.

Once again, it is emphasized that the police are committed to fighting the causes and environment that lead to criminal activity. Everything is being done to eliminate criminal subculture and to establish principles specific to civil society.
