Gagik Khachatryan Undergoing Examination at Ashtik Medical Center

Former Minister of Finance and former head of the State Revenue Committee Gagik Khachatryan has been transferred to Ashtik Medical Center. His legal team has reported that medical assistance was necessary yesterday, and doctors have noted the need for cardiological and urgent other examinations and treatments.

This morning, Gagik Khachatryan was moved from the Yerevan detention facility to Ashtik Medical Center and is currently under the care of physicians. It should be noted that Khachatryan has been in custody for nearly six months. He is accused of alleged abuse of official position and embezzlement during his tenure in public office from 2008 to 2014. His lawyers consider the detention to be illegal.
