Accident Occurs on Kievyan Street; Junior Serviceman Rushed to Hospital
On January 12, around 19:30, a collision occurred near house number 1 on Kievyan Street involving two cars driven by Yerevan residents: 62-year-old Artyush Samvelyan in a Renault 18 LL 047 and 26-year-old Vahe Baghdasaryan in a Mercedes with license plate 01 QT 100.
The Mercedes then crashed into a concrete barrier installed near the Kievyan Bridge. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, three passengers of the Mercedes—19-year-old Edgar Nazaretyan, 27-year-old Norik Meyroyan, and 25-year-old Arthur Meltonyan, a resident of Charentsavan—were hospitalized with injuries at the Astghik Medical Center. From there, Nazaretyan was transferred to the Central Garrison Military Hospital of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.
According to G. Shamshyan's information, the driver of the Mercedes, V. Baghdasaryan, is the manager of the Chizi café. Among the injured, A. Meltonyan works as the deputy director of the Zulakentron LLC, while E. Nazaretyan serves as a junior serviceman in military unit N of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.
The photojournalist reports that preliminary information suggests that an unknown vehicle created a hazardous situation for the mentioned drivers, which became the cause of the accident.
