Young Man Stabs Acquaintance During Dispute Over Greeting
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has uncovered a stabbing incident involving a 22-year-old, resulting in charges against him. The incident occurred on January 1, 2020, at 08:50 when the Yerevan medical center "Saint Grigor Lusavorich" reported to the New Nork police division that a 23-year-old resident of Yerevan had been admitted with a "cut wound to the waist area."
A criminal case has been initiated at the Investigative Committee in accordance with Article 112, Part 1 of the Armenian Criminal Code.
According to the data obtained during the investigation, between 04:00 and 06:00 on January 1, 2020, in the vicinity of a garage near one of the buildings in the 5th district of New Nork, a dispute arose regarding how to greet each other, during which the 22-year-old stabbed his acquaintance, a 23-year-old resident of Yerevan, intentionally causing serious harm to his health.
In light of the evidence collected, charges have been brought against the 22-year-old under Article 112, Part 1 of the Armenian Criminal Code. Bail was chosen as a precautionary measure against him.
A series of investigative actions have been carried out, including examination of the crime scene and the seizure of the weapon used in the crime, which was a knife. Forensic medical and genetic examinations have also been appointed. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
Note: The suspect or accused in the alleged offense is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of Armenia by a court's legally binding verdict.
