27-Year-Old Driver Crashes Opel in Kotayk Region
On January 13, at 13:27, the ‘911’ service received a call reporting a car accident near the ‘Sirius’ factory in Abovyan city, Kotayk region, with a gas leak present. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.
A firefighting unit from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that an ‘Opel Astra G’ vehicle, driven by Edgar A. (born in 1993), had exited the roadway and collided with a gas pipeline, causing a gas leak.
The rescuers closed the valve on the car's gas cylinder and maintained watch until the arrival of the ‘1-04’ service personnel, who managed to stop the gas leak.
