Six Individuals Declare Hunger Strike in Correctional Facilities
The representative of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia has contacted the management of the "Prison Hospital" correctional facility to verify information appearing in the media regarding individuals who have declared a hunger strike.
According to the correctional facility's confirmation, six individuals (five detainees and one convicted person) have submitted requests to declare a hunger strike. The provided information indicates that those on hunger strike are under the supervision of medical personnel.
"The issue is under the immediate attention of the Human Rights Defender. Necessary measures will be taken within the scope of the Defender's authority to ensure the rights of the mentioned individuals," the statement said.
