Erebuni Museum Expands with New Modern Building
The Erebuni historical and archaeological reserve-museum will expand through the construction of a new modern building. The "John and Sosi Balayan Foundation" will make a donation for the implementation of the project.
The Yerevan City Council approved the cooperation agreement signed on October 3, 2019, between Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan and the "John and Sosi Balayan Foundation." The foundation intends to contribute to the project's implementation under the condition that the amount allocated for the museum's program does not exceed the equivalent of 1 million 650 thousand US dollars. About 1 million 300 thousand US dollars of this amount will be directed to construction, while 350,000 US dollars will cover service organization and equipment (architectural design, AR/VR exhibition hall, project management, and other unforeseen expenses).
The expansion of the Erebuni historical and archaeological reserve-museum will take place on a plot of land with an area of at least 3,000 square meters. The goal is to enhance the impression of the Erebuni museum by creating exhibition spaces equipped with the latest technologies and AR/VR experiences.
