Kolina Denies Reports of Illegal Child Adoption from Armenia
The president of FIFA's refereeing committee, Pierluigi Collina, has denied reports claiming that he adopted a child illegally from Armenia. Collina made this statement to the Italian ANSA agency.
“I was astonished to read that there are reports suggesting I have illegally adopted an Armenian child. I respect those who adopt children legally, but my wife and I have never thought about this,” said the famous Italian referee. He considered it incredible that his name could be associated with an investigation into illegal adoption.
The Armenian Ministry of Justice had previously issued a statement refuting the media reports about Collina's alleged illegal child adoption from Armenia.
