Police Supported Closure of Court Entrances, Today They Took People into Custody: Arsen Babayan
Former Deputy Head of the National Assembly Staff Arsen Babayan made a post on his Facebook page regarding the clash between the youth of the ARF and the police that took place today in front of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia. The full post is as follows:
“One of the best manifestations of inequality before the law is when, during one incident (closing the court entrances), the police 'supports' those who are closing them, while in another case (today, in front of the ministry), they take people into custody.”
It is worth recalling that the ARF youth demanded a meeting with Minister Arayik Harutyunyan in front of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports. Subsequently, police forces took 24 individuals into custody based on failure to comply with the legal requirements of the police, as stipulated by Article 182 of the Administrative Violations Code.
