No Day Without a Lie: Ashotyan
Armen Ashotyan wrote on his Facebook page: “NO DAY WITHOUT A LIE. PM’s New Deception Nikol Pashinyan today referred to the British analytical institute's 2019 Legatum Prosperity Index and claimed that “Armenia ranked 61st, improving its position by 27 points compared to last year.”
I don’t know what Nikol is hoping for while writing yet another lie, but I must sadly inform him that there are still people in Armenia who read such reports in their original form and in full.
So, in reality, our country’s position has indeed improved, but not by 27 points as Pashinyan wrote, but by 7. In last year’s similar study, Armenia ranked 68th.
I will set aside other inaccuracies in his post, such as “the authors of the ranking compare countries based on nine criteria,” while in fact the ranking is based on 12 criteria.
P.S. I also cannot exclude the possibility that such misinformation was provided to him by the government staff. In that case, those officials who prepare erroneous reports should be penalized.”
