Draft Evader Takes Unbelievable Steps to Avoid Service in Russia

A resident of Novovoronezh, Russia, struck himself with a pot 16 times to avoid presenting to the military commissariat and serving in the army. Following the incident, he sought medical assistance and documented his injuries.

This was reported by 'Комсомольская правда', citing the Novovoronezh city court. The court revealed that in May 2018, after turning 18, the young man moved into a rented apartment where he inflicted injuries on himself. After receiving treatment, the young man hid until the draft concluded.

During this time, the draftee participated in group thefts and other crimes. The court sentenced him to 3.5 years in prison and a fine of 30,000 rubles.
